Electricity Billed For Info
Close
This section displays your meter reading for this month and last month. The difference between the two is the amount of power you used (in kilowatt hours). This section also tells you when an actual read of your meter, current read of your meter (Smart Meters) or an estimate is being used. An actual read is one where either you or SaskPower have recorded what your meter displays. A current read is one where the smart meter sent in the read to SaskPower. An estimate is used whenever SaskPower is unable to read your meter.

SaskPower charges a variety of other fees including:
Special Meter Readings: You may need to pay a fee if you request a meter reading because you are moving in or out, or you are requesting an additional read that falls in between your regularly-scheduled meter readings.
Service Call Charge: You may be charged if a service person is required to come to your home because of:
  • No power due to the pole breaker, main or sub breaker when we've asked you to check the specific breaker and you didn't do so.
  • A repeat call caused by equipment problems that we've asked you to correct.
  • A service call outside of regular working hours, including connecting a new service after hours.
  • An after-hours tenancy change meter read.
  • A tenancy change where a service person needs to reconnect service or install a meter.
  • Removing or reinstalling a customer's meter which has been disconnected because they haven't applied for power.
  • Disconnecting or reconnecting a customer's service because of a defect notice.
Connect Fee: A connect fee is generally charged for your move out / move in situations. This fee recovers the costs associated with gathering meter read information necessary to close off the old account and establish the new one. A fee is also charged if the service was disconnected because the bill wasn't paid.
Security Deposits: A security deposit will be charged if you are moving in and you have existing debt with SaskPower, if you have claimed bankruptcy, if the service was disconnected for non-payment and you request the service to be re-instated, or if a new additional general service account falls into the 30 day arrears within the first 12 months of billing. You will receive interest on this deposit as a monthly credit to your account.
NSF Charge: A fee will be charged for payments returned due to funds "not sufficient".
Bill Record or Statement Charge: There will usually be a charge for customer-requested bill records or statements.
