Our Energy Assistance Program is easy to join and completely FREE!

High utility bills can be stressful for lower-income households. And it can be costly to make energy efficient upgrades to your home. We’ve partnered with CLEAResult, the largest provider of emission-reducing energy solutions across North America, to administer this program. Together, we plan to help you save money on utility bills and make your home more energy efficient!

All Saskatchewan residents who meet the program eligibility below can apply. This program is offered in partnership with the Government of Canada, the City of Saskatoon and the City of Swift Current Light and Power.

How the Program Works

Understand the process before applying.

Apply online for the FREE Energy Assistance Program. When you submit your online application form, you’ll receive a confirmation email within minutes.

You’ll be contacted to book your Home Energy Coach appointment depending on your location and the availability of our Home Energy Coach. The wait period can range from 3 weeks to 3 months.

Depending on your location, we may reach out to offer you the energy efficiency kit option. This is targeted to those in rural and remote locations that we’re unable to reach in person. We’ll contact you with further details if you qualify for this option.

The Home Energy Coach will come to your home, provide you with simple tips on how to save money on your bills and install FREE energy upgrades like:

  • ENERGY STAR® LED light bulbs
  • Block heater timer
  • Pipe wrap
  • High-efficiency showerheads
  • Aerators for kitchen and bathroom faucets
  • Drying rack
During the walk through, the Home Energy Coach will determine if your home qualifies for a smart thermostat. If it does, our team will reach out to a local Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) contractor or one of your choosing to contact you and set up the smart thermostat installation appointment.

After we install the products in your home, we’ll send you a short online survey. You can let us know what you liked about the program and ways we can continue to improve it.

We may also reach out about a home audit. Where we’ll come back to your home and review that the products were properly installed and are working.
