We’ve partnered with Flying Dust (FD) Power and First Nations Power Authority (FNPA) to build a new flare gas facility in the province. Located near Coleville, Sask., this facility will be the largest flare gas operation in the province.

Transmission project timeline build stage

Why We’re Doing It

Together with FNPA, we’re committed to including Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan’s power sector. This helps to create sustainable economic development and local benefits.

Once complete this facility will be a source of baseload power, generating enough power for 9,000 homes.

At peak construction the project will see up to 95 workers on site. In the long run, it will create about 20 jobs required to run the facility, complete gas gathering and transport fuel.

Construction is expected to be completed in 2025.

How We’ll Build It

FD Power is a partnership between Genalta Power and Flying Dust First Nation. They’ll build, own and manage the project while selling us the power produced.
