We’ve created a new funding program to support environmental preservation of the Saskatchewan River Delta in northern Saskatchewan. The Delta Restoration Initiative will support grassroots projects that help maintain and improve this unique and important ecosystem.
We’ll award up to $20,000 per eligible project until the annual budget of $100,000 is used up.
Eligible Projects
To be eligible, projects will support the biodiversity and ecosystem health of the delta, while respecting cultural connections to the land and water.
Eligible project examples include, but aren’t limited to:
- mapping/surveying
- vegetation planting or removal
- trapline cleaning/maintenance
Who is eligible?
Indigenous individuals or organizations may apply.

Applications open July 1, 2026. There is no set application deadline but interested applicants are encouraged to apply early.
