Targeted Annual Inspections: Each year, we inspect selected sections of our power lines to identify vegetation that could pose a risk. We focus on areas with the highest potential impact on safety and reliability, based on data and past performance.
Thorough Planning: We prioritize areas based on several key factors – such as line voltage, geographic location, regulatory requirements, customer impact and our patrol findings. We also consider safety social, and environmental factors.
Effective Techniques: To clear lines, we use methods like cutting, mulching, mowing, or herbicide application. The techniques we use depend on the type of vegetation. Our goal is to create stable, low-growing plant communities that prevent tall-growing trees from posing a risk.
