SaskPower To Hold Third Power Talks: Energy Education Series

May 17, 2024

As part of SaskPower’s commitment to increasing energy literacy in Saskatchewan, the utility is holding its third Energy Education Series – Power Talks.

Sessions will happen this this May and June and are aimed at bringing Saskatchewan residents the latest information on topics like affordability, the distribution system, microgrids and large-scale wind and solar projects.

“As SaskPower’s business evolves, we understand that our customers want to know what options are being considered and pursued, and how these options could impact our province,” said Kathryn Pollack, Executive Vice-President of People, Safety & Indigenous and Corporate Relations at SaskPower. “The Power Talks Series is an example of how we’re working to provide Saskatchewan residents with the information they need to navigate the energy transition with us.”

SaskPower is on track to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 or sooner, which means Saskatchewan’s power system is changing.

Each session is an hour long, from 12 to 1 p.m., and will feature experts from SaskPower and other organizations like the Saskatchewan Research Council, Canadian Renewable Energy Association, and more:

  • May 22, 2024 – Affordable Power: Managing the Costs of Electricity
  • May 29, 2024 – The Distribution System: Residential Needs of the Future
  • June 5, 2024 – Exploring Microgrids: The Saskatchewan Context
  • June 12, 2024 – Hosting Renewable Projects: Large-Scale Wind and Solar in our Communities
