Chemists/Plant Chemical Technologists

  • Conduct chemical and physical analyses of samples and interpret results
  • Diploma in chemical technology or a degree in chemistry
  • Knowledge of related technical principles
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Electrician

  • Manage, coach and train assigned staff
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills

Engineering Technologist

  • Long-range engineering planning
  • Design
  • Construction
  • Operation system facilities
  • Diploma in technology or equivalent in relevant field (electrical, electronics, mechanical or civil engineering)
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Knowledge of related technical principles
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of computer operating systems and server environments

Industrial Mechanic

  • Work on industrial mechanical equipment
  • Interpret plans, drawings and specifications
  • Determine rigging, hoisting and load requirements
  • Operate forklifts, hoists, cranes and shop tools and equipment
  • Work throughout the province
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Works well with others

Power Line Technician

  • Construction and maintenance on overhead and underground distribution and transmission lines, switching stations and substation facilities
  • Interpret and action engineering or manufacturing plans
  • Maintain inventory of parts and supplies
  • Direct and managing staff performance
  • Work throughout the province and perform a variety of assignments
  • Interprovincial Journeyperson Power Line Technician Certificate
  • Valid Class 1A driver’s licence
  • Ability to perform power line work at the journeyed level
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Works well with others

Power Station Operator (Class 1 and 2)

  • Positions with an Interprovincial 2nd Class ticket are responsible for overseeing the operation of the power station turbines, boilers and associated systems.
  • Positions with an Interprovincial 1st Class ticket are responsible for:
    • assigned power station operation to meet system load demands
    • the supervision of operating staff
  • 1st and/or 2nd Class Power Engineer’s Certificate
  • 2 years of related process operations experience or equivalent
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
  • Proven ability to supervise and foster a high performing team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Mentorship and coaching abilities
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
